Birthday simple means the day of you were born. When you complete one full year from the day of your birth the day is celebrated. Hence birthday is literally you birth anniversary.

The birthday is the most joyous occasion of your life since it celebrates the event that brought unto the earth. Birthday celebrations are a norm all over the World and throwing a birthday party is common. The birthday parties are celebrated in party catering halls by the rich. The rich can afford the expense of rentals food service and décor etc. Many prefer to celebrate birthday in a private party location which is mostly one’s house. If the number of invitees is more the food service from caterer is called for.

The religious opinion of celebrating one’s birth anniversary varies from one religion to another. But in recent times birthday celebrations have become a vogue and most of the communities have come to accept it.

Birthday parties of young girls and boys are more commonly celebrated. Fewer adults celebrate this occasion. The centre piece of attraction in all birthdays especially that of young are the cake, candles, assorted cookies and sweets. Giving a birthday gift is a widespread practice. Some rich and famous throw an extravaganza in luxurious birthday locations or banquet halls and outdoor locations. These can be very expensive parties and are usually the talk of the town. The rich can show off their wealth and power in this manner. Instead of receiving gifts some philanthropists encourage charity and donate large sums of money to the poor and needy. Birthdays of famous people like Mahatma Gandhi are often declared as National Holidays. Birth of religious heads and prophets are celebrated as ceremonious religious function by the followers of that community. Christmas is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Christ.
